At Long Last, Filming is Now Completed!
When filming the last few parts of my music video I got
struck with inspiration and began to film other scenes that I did not plan in my
story board. I majorly filmed the scenes where both characters are surrounded
by all black and the camera captures them. This would serve as a relaxed moment
in the video; a break from all the other things going on the video. I initially
decided I would just film the hamster and dog by themselves with nothing else, but
I decided to change that. Instead, I surrounded them with flowers as a representation
of their love. I took a few videos of them surrounded by flowers and then one
by one I would take the flowers away to show the diminishing love. Getting my
dog to sit down in one place and look at the camera was a big struggle; she
already wasn’t feeling well that day, so it was a little hard to do. The
hamster was even worse, and he never stayed in one spot and kept roaming
everywhere. I surrounded multiple items I could find over the area I set up, to
keep Kevin from scurrying off. One of the items I used was his cage which he fought
to get back into majority of the time. At one point my dog stuck her head inside
the cage and tried to eat Kevin’s food, but in the end, I successfully got my
clips. I used my phone and camera for filming this time around. I recorded
through the social media app, Instagram, since it had a diverse amount of
filters that fit the scenes I was trying to portray. Earlier I discovered that
there are certain things that I can’t use in my video. For instance, the
animated clock I put in previously would not be allowed because it was someone else’s
animation. So, instead I filmed my grandmother’s retro clock and turned my
phone counterclockwise while filming to represent time reversing. I also used a
gif of a bird which also wouldn’t be allowed, so I recorded an artificial dove,
that was a part of a decoration set in my house and flew it across the screen.
I later got to film the very last few storyboards where someone retrieves Kevin
from his cage and Faye (dog) awaits him happily only to be crushed. I used my brother
as the individual to retrieve Kevin. Convincing my dog to stay in one place
required a lot of treats and hand gestures. I decide to make the scene into
different cut scenes. I cut the scene into three parts one part where my
brother is walking towards the cage, another where Kevin is in his hand, and
the last where he is walking away. Faye can be seen left behind, and with that
all my filming was concluded.
