Final Project love challenge

Image
Throughout this project I learned several things, but the most important thing being things don't always go your way, and that's okay. While I made plans like a schedule and locations I rarely stuck to the plans. In the beginning I tried to stick to the schedule as much as possible, but I found myself becoming stressed over the dates and deadlines I set for myself and eventually learned to work on my own pace. I initially planned to film at the beach, but that plan didn't go through as well. Despite many of my ideas falling through I remain satisfied with the outcome of this project. I don't regret any changes I made, nor do I regret decisions I’ve made beforehand. I established a template and adjusted it based on my own pace and new ideas. Out of all the film projects I’ve had this year I feel I have achieved the most with this final project.

Peer Review

Image
As the due date is tomorrow, all editing was finalized, and the video was peer reviewed. When the video was viewed by others, I had a range of responses. The most important response I got was that the plot was easily understood. From the 3 people that saw the film, all were able to understand the main point of the film. Things like the main male character’s fear of animals and the conflict the main male character has with his trauma and the love at first sight he’s experiencing, were able to be understood. One critique I was given was that the film seemed to be a little fast paced. While they gave me the problem, they did not give much advice on how I could possibly fix the problem. I will browse through the video and look for ways to slow down the pace of the video without running over the allotted time. I may have to delete a few scenes in order to slow the pace of other separate scenes. The scenes that aren’t as important to the overall plot and understanding of the movie will

Editing Over Schedule and Over Time

Image
Though I planned for editing to be finished by this week, the deadline had to be pushed back. While editing I found that my film ran over the allotted time. To fit everything, I wanted in the film I had to do a lot of cutting and reediting. For the scenes where I showed multiple angles, a lot of the clips had to be deleted. For certain scenes I would show multiple angles, but a good number had to be deleted since they took up valuable time. The plot of the film would be just as understandable without the multiple angles, but the different views played towards the technical skill of my film. While some scenes had to be deleted, others had to be trimmed slightly. To get rid of wasted time in the film I would trim the beginning and end of certain scenes where the main male lead spends too much time doing one specific action. When there was wasted time in the middle of a clip, I would split it into two and trim the beginning of the clip with the extra time. For scenes that could not have

Making the Title

Image
While editing I mainly focused on the titles and the sound. For the first audio that would be present in my film I decided to leave it the way it was and add it straight into the editing app. Not much of the audio had to be adjusted other than its playing time. I also added a fade in and fade out. Since I was still editing my film in the Microsoft Video Editor, I decided to first due a trial run of the PowerPoint to find the best way to add the main title. I wasn’t sure if I needed to individually add the video so the title would be displayed or if I could time the title to appear and disappear on the screen. After investigating I discovered I will be able to add the main title to the film by utilizing the transitions and effects in the app. I would have to make a PowerPoint and later convert it into a video file. In the Microsoft Video Editor app, I would put it in its proper place, and time it correctly with the music and other effects. To create the main title, I first choose a co

Microsoft PowerPoint to the Rescue

Since I no longer decided to film at the beach, there were a few adjustments that I needed to make. In response to the change in location I updated my storyboard. After adjusting the scenes through editing, I noticed that the flow of my film seems to be a lot better. I wanted to represent a lame pathetic character and a morning jog at the beach did not represent that. Jogging through a neighborhood is more realistic for the main male character and the extra walking their dog that morning. Seeing as how all my scenes were assembled, I delved deep into editing. I plan to complete all editing by the end of this week to leave the last week before the project is due to per editing. While the timing is a little behind the previously set schedule, I believe I will have enough time to complete everything. When editing I utilized many filters to adjust the atmosphere of the scenes. Due to the lack of availability of my actors some scene could not be done uniformly. There were some scenes that

Finding the Right Music

Image
To begin my editing process, I first began to look for music to fit into my film. I did a web search of film music with no copyright, but later decided to do a lengthy search through YouTube. After browsing through multiple versions of noncopyrighted music I found that most of the songs were EDM. The music I wanted to incorporate in my film wasn’t meant to be EDM. After not finding many other variations I just decided to stick with EDM and try to achieve the sound that was closes to what I expected. In order to save space, I saved all the music I planned to use in my film by liking the video. I will later download the music by first converting it in a YouTube converter and downloading as an mp3 file. Since I won’t be using all of the music in each video, I will take the downloaded music and upload into my audio editor. I will find a way to upload all the sounds in the video into one track to play throughout the entire film. Other sounds that can’t be produced in the original video li
