Peer Review

As the due date is tomorrow, all editing was finalized, and the video was peer reviewed. When the video was viewed by others, I had a range of responses. The most important response I got was that the plot was easily understood. From the 3 people that saw the film, all were able to understand the main point of the film. Things like the main male character’s fear of animals and the conflict the main male character has with his trauma and the love at first sight he’s experiencing, were able to be understood. One critique I was given was that the film seemed to be a little fast paced. While they gave me the problem, they did not give much advice on how I could possibly fix the problem. I will browse through the video and look for ways to slow down the pace of the video without running over the allotted time. I may have to delete a few scenes in order to slow the pace of other separate scenes. The scenes that aren’t as important to the overall plot and understanding of the movie will most likely be deleted. After the scenes are deleted and some are extended, I would have the film reevaluated to see if the deleted clips affected the understanding of the plot. While I was going for a romantic comedy, I was told there wasn’t much of a comedic aspect to my film. It doesn’t resemble a typical adult themed comedy in romantic comedies, which is what I based my film on. There appeared to be limited humor that would be present in any movie. I did not accomplish my goal of a romantic comedy, but my main goal was to deliver an understandable plot. The humor in the film seemed to appeal more to my family members because they were more familiar with the actors who were also family members. However, when I showed someone who wasn’t as familiar with the actors I was informed of the diminished humor. Other than a few points in the film, the person reviewing was not aware that the films genre was meant to be a romantic comedy. There is not much I can do now about the humorous aspect of the film at this point. Other than a quick review and evaluation of my film, the overall project is complete.
