Final Task: Editing 2

Editing of the footage collected the weekend prior commenced this week. Using my Microsoft Video Editor, I cut and organized the recordings. Before even delving into the editing app, I deleted extra footage that was in my camera and saved a few extra ones. I uploaded and saved the videos I wanted in the film to my laptop then later uploaded them into the editing app. Since I now had the footage to go before the previous footage I edited, I cut the scene to transition nicely into the next. The majority of editing this week was trimming and ordering the scenes. This week was light editing due to the missing first 3 scenes. I put off editing like music and adding effects until I had more footage. Adding in music and special effects would have taken more times as well, and that was time I did not have this week. Spring Break will grant much more time to work on the project, and filming should be completed by the end. I plan to complete the majority of editing of the entire film by the end of spring break. I also plan to use another app for editing transitions, and it takes a while for the footage to transfer onto that specific app. If I added the sounds now and later added footage the timing of the sounds would not correlate with the footage, so its better to complete filming before deep editing. While light editing, I was able to finalize the costume of the main male lead for the first 3 scenes. I decided on a black fitted athletic fitted shirt, basketball shorts, and tennis shoes. I may plan to throw in accessories like glasses or a watch, depending on the situation. As the first sense show him going for a morning run, he will be wearing common workout clothes. Due to restriction on the budget, the costume was based on things found in the actor’s wardrobe. Prior to making the storyboard I actually considered the actors clothing choices and decided the scene on something the actor readily had. The plot of the entire film was actually based on the actors portraying the characters, or at least how I view them.
