Final Task: Sticking to the Schedule

Filming and editing this week did not commence for multiple reasons.
One being that I wanted to stick to the schedule that I previously planned. In
my schedule, the first day of filming begins March 6, 2021, this Saturday coming
up. The schedule was planned to accommodate my work from other classes, personal
activities during free time, and my work schedule. I plan to stick to my schedule
so filming nor editing did not commence this week. If I did have free time, I
would have begun filming earlier but, as I expected there were multiple things keeping
me busy and I would not have had time to film anything. I plan to start filming
this Saturday because it was the most appropriate time. The script and
storyboard were just completed this week and the adjust time was the days before
the first day of filming. I alerted my actors and prepared props within the
time between Tuesday, when I finalized my scripts and storyboard, and Saturday.
The availability of my actors was another reason I could not begin filming. While
one actor lives with me the other doesn’t and attends school during the week.
Their availability is limited to the weekends, which Is when I scheduled all filming
to be done. Throughout the multiple filming and editing blogs, Monday post will
most likely contain filming content and Thursday post will contain editing
content. As described by the schedule posted in a previous blog, I plan to film
the later scenes of the film. One obstacle however has presented itself. Scenes
that involve the dog will most likely be delayed to a further time. The dog
actor has gone under a change in physical appearance that does not coincide with
the vision of the director (myself). I
wanted to display an ironic situation where a dog that’s small, fluffy, and
cute is somehow seen as a vicious animal to the main male actor, yet her haircut
makes her look like a vicious animal. Her scenes may have to be delayed to a
further time, at least to a point where most of her hair grows back, the filming
schedule will be adjusted accordingly. The scenes with my male actor, which is
the majority, will be the first ones to be complete. I decided to center my
film more around the male lead since the actor is highly available and I decided
to go with untraditional methods. A romantic comedy typically follows the
female character in the story, but I wanted to deliver a plot from the male’s
point of view. I wanted to deliver a vulnerability in love that society tends
to strip away from men. My method will go to show that men can be vulnerable in
love too and it’s not always women.
