Final Task: First Day of Editing

Contrary to the schedule, editing did not take place on March 7, 2021. Editing took place at a later date due to lack of time on March 7, 2021. When planning the schedule, I mainly targeted it towards filming. Since filming involves other people’s time, it was best to provide a schedule, but editing is based solely on me, so I don’t hold the dates to as high a standard. The dates for editing in the schedule are more of a guide but one date, the date where all editing is finalized, is a goal. Editing this week did not consist of much since I did not have much film and scenes to edit. I first went through all the videos I recorded in my camera and choose the ones that were acceptable and deleted the ones with mistakes. I kept some on the camera as a backup just in case I felt like changing it or a peer reviewer felt another take would fit better. Once I selected the ones I plan to have in my film for now, I uploaded them to my computer and then to the editing app. The editing app I used was the Microsoft Video Editor. This app will primarily be used for trimming and putting the scenes in order. Some other features I used was the slow-motion effect that slowed down a few parts of the scene. There were also some 3d effects and filters of the app that I used. I applied the Romance filter to one recording, where the camera captured the main female lead’s beauty, along with a slow-motion effect. Another sequence that I have not filmed yet has to go between two of the sequences I’ve already made, so I put a place holder in to make the transition easier. With the scenes in place, I began browsing for songs that would best fit each part. I have multiple selections, but they are of course limited due to copyright. As scheduled, I will continue filming on the weekend of March 13-14. No editing will commence that weekend and all time will be dedicated to filming. I plan to finish filming by that weekend, so editing and peer review will remain being that they are the longest parts.
